About this Committee

 

This group of volunteers looks for new and more effective ways to strengthen the value of chamber membership. They examine the benefits and explore ways that chamber members can support each other. The following are some of the initiatives of the membership committee:

  • New Member Breakfasts
  • Ambassador Program

May 2006

  • The committee is exploring ways to recognize long term members of the chamber at major milestone years
  • Under strategic planning the committee is looking at ways to expand the use of and effectiveness of the Ambassador Committee
  • The next New Member Breakfast is June 13th 

 April 2006

  • Three new members have joined the committee: Shaun McDonald of Avoca Pools, Cathy Svetec of TD Bank and Sandra Toms of Everyday Specialities
  • A potential media package for new members is being discussed since most new businesses struggle with the costs of promoting themselves

 

February 2006

  • The next New Member Breakfast will be held on Tuesday, March 7th with remaining ones this year to be held at the Captain's Restaurant.
  • Chamber Mailings were discussed and it was decided to change the mailings to every other month as there are several members on a waiting list each quarter that cannot be accommodated. The cost of the mailing is $90 +GST and we would not print a Chamberlink but a Special Edition of the B2B Connection would be printed in house that would save some money. A flyer will be created for members to sign up at once if they wish to some or all of the mailing dates available.
  • The new mailing format will start in May then will follow in the subsequent months of July, September, November, January and March each year.
  • The announcement of requiring a new chairperson was made and that position is currently being recruited.

Chamber Ambassadors were encouraged to fill in the Chamber Ambassador contact form and fax to Debbie so record can be made on the IRM database and a copy in the members file.
