LINDSAY – Lindsay Chamber of Commerce Hosts All-Candidates Meeting

Making a decision about the best candidate for the upcoming provincial election is no easy task.  With the slate of candidates facing the voters in this election, it’s important to find out where they stand on key election issues.

The Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Kawartha Lakes This Week, BOB FM, the Kawartha Lakes Real Estate Association, the Victoria Haliburton Federation of Agriculture and the Lindsay Post to host an all candidates meeting on Wednesday September 28th at I.E. Weldon Secondary School in Lindsay. The debate will include all candidates that are in the running for the Provincial Election that is taking place on Thursday October 6th, 2011.

The invited candidates include Rick Johnson, candidate for the Liberal Party, PC candidate Laurie Scott, Don Abel, NDP candidate, Anita Payne, candidate for the Green Party and candidate Charles Olito for the Freedom Party of Ontario. An opportunity will be available from 6:00-7:00 to meet the candidates and at 7:00 pm we will then move to a meeting format. The discussion will be moderated with opening remarks from the candidates, questions from our sponsors, and a question period from the audience.

It is important that residents in the City of Kawartha Lakes understand where the candidates stand on issues that are important to the City of Kawartha Lakes. There are many issues that have an impact on the growth of business and we all share a responsibility to make sure our elected representatives reflect those needs. If you would like to submit a question for consideration prior to the All Candidates Meeting on September 28th, you can do so by email to Gayle Jones, General Manager at gayle@lindsaychamber.com

In planning and hosting this All Candidates Meeting, the Chamber of Commerce hopes to help you cast an informed vote that will deliver positive change for our community.
