Volunteer Qualifications

Volunteering with the Chamber is both fun and rewarding!

Our volunteers help set the direction for the Chamber. Benefits include: skill development, leadership development, new community connections and enjoyment!

Volunteer opportunities are available to match your interests, talents and available time commitments.

These are some of the volunteer opportunities available:

  • Board of Directors – time commitment: roughly 5 hours/month – sets the direction of the Chamber with the use of a strategic plan and monitors progress throughout the year
  • Committees – 3 hours/month time commitment:
  • Advocacy Committee – directing the Chamber’s activities as voice for business
  • Chamber Ambassador Committee – sub-committee of the Membership committee – help to mentor and orient new members of the Chamber
  • Kawartha Lakes Associated Chambers of Commerce – committee with representation from four area chambers which provides opportunities for joint networking events, tourism marketing of the region and joint advocacy initiatives
  • Membership Committee – strengthening Chamber benefits and member to member programs
  • Policy Committee – reviews the internal policies of the Chamber including By-laws, Human Resource Policies and Finance and Operating Policies
  • Programs & Events Committee – determines the direction of Chamber events
  • Other Volunteer Opportunities – minimal time commitment:
  • Event Volunteer including Santa Claus Parade, Evening of Excellence, Annual Golf Tournament
