Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes is one of the areas largest and most diverse child and youth serving organizations. Established in 1970, they have steadily grown to include essential before and after school programs; evening drop-in activities for teens; full day programs and summer camps, dances,; adventure programming; licensed child care; child and youth counselling; infant development; and restorative justice circles. Programs in the club facilities include computers, crafts, leadership training, sports and day trips. Children and youth from birth to 19 years of age benefit from the Club's programming and services. Serving over 4000 children, youth and their families annually, Club services foster self-esteem, build skills, and provide qualified supervision by dedicated and compassionate staff. Before and after school progams include breakfast, nutritional snacks and dinners. Through the teamwork of everyone involved from staff and volunteers to Board members and donors, their Clubs help young people to become valuable and contributing members of the community.
