2009 Santa Claus Parade:

A Winter Olympic Christmas

Sunday, November 22rd 2:00pm

The Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce has just received an alert from the North Pole: Christmas is right around the corner! The staff at the Chamber are busy planning for the 2009 Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce Santa Claus Parade presented by Giant Tiger. The parade will take place on Sunday, November 22 starting at 2:00 pm.

The theme for this year’s parade will be “A Winter Olympic Christmas”, in support of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, and the Torch Relay Celebration taking place here in Lindsay on December 16th. Float applications are available at the Chamber of Commerce, with the deadline for applications being November 13, 2009. Awards will be provided to the top three floats in each of three categories: Non-profit (including Youth Groups), Schools and Churches, and Commerce & Industry which includes Health Related Services. A top award will also be provided for the float that best reflects this year’s theme. Get your float application here.

There are a number of ways of getting involved in this fantastic community event. Volunteer opportunities exist for young and old alike and be aware that the time can be used towards Community Service hours required in schools for youth over the age of 14. If you would like to become a volunteer for the parade, please call Judy for more information at 324-2393.

The Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce would like to thank Steve Quick and his staff at Giant Tiger for their efforts and support of this year’s parade. For further inquiries, please contact Judy at the Lindsay and District Chamber of Commerce at 324-2393.
