Evening of Excellence - Thank you to the Community
For Release April 2, 2008
Lindsay: What makes an Evening of Excellence? It’s a combination of community passion, artistic talent, culinary excellence and supportive individuals. It’s also a night of splendor, elegance, honour and appreciation as the business community recognizes and salutes their own.
This year’s Evening of Excellence was all this and more. In light of exceptional circumstances beyond our control, the Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce not only moved forward with the event, it was presented in a manner that was different, exciting and showcased the Academy Theatre in its entire splendor. An event like this could not take place without recognizing that there are many factors that make this the success it continues to be.
Six businesses and two individuals received awards generously sponsored by local businesses. The Business Development Bank of Canada, Cintas Canada, RBC Financial, TD Commercial Bank, Crayola Canada, Kawartha Lakes Community Futures Development Corporation, Farmer’s Mutual Insurance Company in Lindsay and Canadian Tire Lindsay all believe in business and individual excellence and demonstrated this by their awards sponsorship. Other sponsors included Marketing Solutions, Stewart Morrison Insurance Company, Holsag Canada, Ward & Ward, and Homestead Oxygen & Medical Equipment. A special recognition and thanks to Tony Crocker Photographer who was available to photograph all the winners in each award category.
The event was well promoted through our local media. The media sponsorship provided by the Lindsay Post, CHEX Television, Kawartha Lakes This Week and BOB FM raised the awareness of the event and of our charity partner The Academy Theatre. The Academy Theatre was readily available to assist to ensure that the evening provided all the right qualities an Evening of Excellence should.
The Evening of Excellence has a distinguished branding image thanks to the graphic designs by Marketing Solutions and Lazer Graphics who offer much in-kind sponsorship to the event. Excellence is further attained through the artful creations of Kent Florist who provided their talent and time to create the elegant atmosphere within the Theatre. Fleming College Culinary Arts Program Students delivered culinary excellence from around the world through the splendid preparation and serving for the event. The Academy Theatre also provided musical entertainment both on stage and in the Guild Room.
Community spirit included assistance from ValuMart, Mackey Funeral Home, Lindsay Dry Cleaners and our local Girl Guides of Canada, as well as the Kinsman Club, who all assisted in providing services and support to the event. A selection of local high school students was also available to assist throughout the evening.
Part of the success of the evening comes from all those who attend. To the family, friends, business associates and colleagues who support the award finalists and winners, there is a special recognition. Success is rarely achieved by one’s self, and this is an evening that highlights this.
And the final ingredient to this successful event is a staff team who goes beyond expectations to make sure that the evening is organized and coordinated with all details being attended to.
This year the Evening of Excellence provided attendees with a kaleidoscope of elegance, splendor and ambiance combined with community spirit, passion and dedication. The Lindsay & District Chamber of Commerce wishes to thank everyone for once again making this an evening of excellence for everyone.
